POLYUREAS (100% AND HYBRIDS) Polyurea is a type of elastomer that is derived from the reaction product of an isocyanate component and a synthetic resin blend component through step-growth polymerization. The isocyanate can be aromatic or aliphatic in nature. It can be monomer, polymer, or any variant reaction of isocyanates, quasi-prepolymer or a prepolymer. The prepolymer, or quasi-prepolymer, can be made of an amine-terminated polymer resin, or a hydroxyl-terminated polymer resin. In layman's terms, polyurea is essentially the product of a chemical reaction which bonds to form an ultra-strong material which can then be used to protect and waterproof many different types of surfaces. By coating with polyurea, you will stop the rusting process, prevent future rusting and corrosion, seal off holes and openings, secure mechanical fasteners, and create a watertight barrier to your roof or structure. Polyurea coatings are available in any color, including different metallic colors. |
